The Senior ladies bowed out of the cup going down to Tyrone Towers by 11 points. As with the league decider against QUB earlier in the week we started the game brightly and had bulit up a commanding lead at the end of the first 15-9 (S Dick 6pts, C Brady 5pts, J Kennedy 2pts, R Walkowska 2pts). A disasterous second quarter for the Lisburn ladies saw Towers score 22pts to take a half-time lead 31-26 (N Smye 7pts, C Brady 2pts).
We fought back in the third and with points from N Smye 6pts, S Dick 4pts and J Kennedy 2pts only trailed by three points, 38-41, to give us a fighting chance going into the last quarter. However, it wasn’t to be and despite our best efforts Towers powered to a quarter win 18-10 to win on an overall score of 59-48 (N Smye 6pts, E Heaney 2pts, R Walkowska 2pts).
Towers now progress to the final where they will take on QUB on Friday night.
