The photos from the awards dinner held in the Ramada Hotel on 22 May 2010 are now available in the gallery link above. Sorry it took a while to get them onto the site but check them out.
WELCOME TO LISBURN CITY BASKETBALL CLUB
Lisburn City Basketball Club would like to welcome you to our new club website. We have revamped the site to enable us to promote the activities taking place within the club. A website can only be successful if the information is accurate and kept up-to-date. To this end I would request that coaches, team managers and players provide information about training, matches, results etc on a weekly basis ensuring that we have a site which we can all be proud of.
U16 Girl’s End of Season Event
The U16 girls visited Craigavon Lakes for some end of season balance training and teamwork. Things didn’t go too well, as the photographer had to be very quick to catch them on the banana boat rather than swimming in the lake.
Teamwork, however went better, as one fell in they all fell in! The day was rounded off with a BBQ and a game that looked like basketball by beginners.
A great day had by all….. Enjoy the photos by clicking here.
Club Dinner and Annual General Meeting
We have arranged the club dinner for Saturday 22 May 2010 at the Ramada Hotel, Shaws Bridge, Belfast from 7.00pm to 10.30pm – cost £15.00 per person.
The evening will begin with the Annual General Meeting at 6.30pm followed by dinner at 7.30pm. After dinner we will have the presentation of prizes to each squad followed by a basketball quiz with prizes for the winners.
The booking forms for the dinner and player registration can be accessed on the following links: BookingFormforDinner and PlayerRegistrationForm.
Can booking forms for the dinner be e-mailed to Breda as soon as possible to allow us to confirm numbers with the Ramda Hotel. We look forward to seeing everyone on the night.a
Open Training Sessions
We will be having some open training sessions on 9 May, 16 May and 23 May from 11.00am to 1.00pm in La Salle College, Edenmore Drive, Belfast, BT11 8LT – cost £3 per person.
The purpose of these sessions will be that the youngest to the oldest in the club will come together and Mike Calo our Senior Men’s coach will work on fundamentals skills with us as a club. Mike is an excellent coach and all players should avail of this.
This is also an opportunity to bring a friend and introduce them to Lisburn City Basketball Club.
All-Ireland U16 Club Championship
Twelve of our U16 boys travelled to Cork on Friday 16th April to take part in the All-Ireland Club Championships.
We were drawn in a pool with Waterford and Templeogue and our first game was scheduled for 1.45pm on the Saturday in Parochial Hall, Gurranbraher against Waterford. On arriving at the venue we were informed that Waterford had withdrawn from the competition and had been replaced by Killester. Without doubt we had been pitted against two of the strongest teams in the competition.
